When we are ready to start talking as children, we are at our most formidable years. Literally each word that is spoke to and from the child is shaping how they will be accepting of life in all areas of life.
It’s said that we are the average of the 5 people we hang out with the most.
I’d take that even further and say that we are also one of those people by the mere fact that our thought life is really what shapes and guides us.
Did you know…?
The average person has 30,000 thoughts per day and that you’re only conscience of 2,000 of them.
Our subconscious is going 24 hrs per day, 365 days a year. If we can tell our subconscious what we want, then it will guide us to the outcomes we choose.
How does this take place?
You start feeding on positive words, things like scripture in the bible is a great way to start flushing out the negative or bad beliefs in your life.
Fact: It takes 21 days to create a habit.
Dr. Leaf has found out that it only takes 4 days to wipe out the negative thoughts in our lives – which look like trees in our brains.
The other 17 days are spent creating the new positive beliefs and thought trees in your life.
Forgiveness is one of the biggest reasons people succumb to disease. It’s literally tied to emotions and hormones being produced in your body that cause the disease.
“Toxic waste generated by toxic thoughts causes the following illnesses: diabetes, cancer, asthma, skin problems and allergies to name just a few. Consciously control your thought life and start to detox your brain!” – from Dr. Leaf’s website
So why haven’t we been told that it’s all based on our thoughts before now?
This is where the conspiracy theorists start thinking up some good reasons, and some of them are quite funny. Perhaps entertainment at best.
Our thought lives are creating highways and byways constantly. When we are creating these paths it’s great but what happens when a negative thought is accepted in our lives as truth?
A great example of this which would better explain the situation is to picture a photo of a road with a fallen tree blocking that road. You won’t be able to get passed that tree until it is removed permanently from the road. This is a 4 day process in our thought lives comparatively.
We are constantly denying and approving thoughts in our lives whether we know it or not. It is imperative to analyze our thought processes and figure out how we think.
There are a few questions that you can ask yourself to figure out if you have a toxic thought life.
For example consider the following:
How many “could-have”, “would-have”, “should-have” statements have you made today?
How many “if only’s” were part of your inner vocabulary today?
How many times have you replayed in your head a conversation or situation that pained you, or one that hasn’t even occurred yet?
How many scenarios have you created of the unpredictable future?
How much is speculation taking out of your day?
How passive is your mind?
How honest are you with yourself?
Are you at cross-purposes with yourself – going through the motions, but not really committed to the goal, saying one thing but meaning another?
How distorted is your thinking? Are you forming a personal identity around for example, a disease? Do you speak about “my arthritis”, “my multiple sclerosis”, “my heart problem”?
Do you ever make comments like “nothing ever goes right for me”; “everything I touch fails”; “I always mess up”?
Another great way to change your thoughts is to be around like-minded people. People that want you to succeed and people who have been in the same boat as you have but have won the battle over negativity.
